The Lionhead rabbit’s origins began in Belgium. They are a mix between a Swiss Fox Rabbit and a Netherland Dwarf. The amazing outcome is a genetic mutation which causes the wool around the head and the flanks to grow resembling a mane. In 2014, the ARBA officially accepted the breed.
Their head mounts high and they have a compact body which should not exceed 3 1/2 lbs. and ears between 2-3 inches in length.
